ShareLife Week April 6th – 9th, 2021

ShareLife Week April 6th – 9th, 2021

At St. Michael Catholic Academy, it is our goal to grow students to become creative and critical thinkers who integrate Gospel values into their daily lives so they can become socially responsible citizens who demonstrate compassion, resilience, responsibility and hope. Charitable giving to help people who are less fortunate is one of the ways we can foster these values in our students.  St. Michael Academy is proud to announce it will be running a charitable campaign for ShareLife from April 6 – 9, 2021.

ShareLife is the charitable arm of the Archdiocese of Toronto. It supports more than 40 Catholic agencies that serve people who are poor and marginalized in the Archdiocese of Toronto and beyond. ShareLife-funded agencies serve the entire community, regardless of religious affiliation.

There are so many people who have been greatly affected in this pandemic and ShareLife has been there to support programs that help people in need in our community. People suffering from mental health illnesses, isolated seniors, young mothers and their children, newcomers to Canada, and people with special needs.

This is why our school will be supporting ShareLife this year to ensure that we do our part to help those in need.

During ShareLife Week our school will be hosting a family activity.

Beginning Tuesday April 6th until Friday April 9th you are encouraged to send photos of your family that celebrate resilience, Spring as a time of new beginnings and hope.

Let’s see all those adorable puppies, favorite family pastimes, cooking together, bike riding, family walks and lots of smiling faces. Together we can create memories of hopefulness!

We will post these to our website/twitter (may be re-tweeted by ycdsb) and organize these pictures into a google presentation for families to view at a later date.  By submitting your photo, you are giving permission to the above.

Please send all photos to dayna.fitzpatrick@ycdsb.ca

Friday April 9th, we will end the week by encouraging students and staff to wear different shades of green.  Prizes (technology morning/afternoon, individual class theme day, class civvies day, movie afternoon, extra 15 min. of recess) will be awarded for the ‘greenest classes.’ We will also be announcing the winner for our classroom ‘window decorating’ contest. Prizes include 1St, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies for each division.

 Electronic Donations:

To minimize contact with physical money and or cheques, we are encouraging our community to donate using the two step electron donation process.

To make an electronic donation to our school’s ShareLife campaign you will need to follow a two-step process.

Step One – Make an e-transfer from your bank account to ShareLife2021@ycdsb.ca.

Please note: No security question and answer is required as this is an auto deposit account. If a security question/answer is set up your deposit cannot be completed.

The minimum donation amount for a tax receipt is $10. All tax receipts will be issued by ShareLife.

Many financial institutions have waived their e-transfer fees due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please check with your financial institution if you have any questions about how to make an e-transfer or email transfer.

Step Two – Complete this YCDSB ShareLife 2021 Campaign Form

Before you complete the form, please send your donation by e-transfer from your bank account to ShareLife2021@ycdsb.ca.

Filling out this form will allow the school to track your donation so your contribution can be added to our school’s tally. This form will also allow for a charitable tax receipt to be issued to you from ShareLife if your donation is $10 or more.

Thank you for your generosity and for supporting our school’s ShareLife Campaign!

We hope you will participate in this family event and assist with our school’s ShareLife Campaign. Thank you for your support.

Yours in Catholic Education,

Dayna Fitzpatrick
