St. Michael Academy Families

August 21st, 2020

Good afternoon St. Michael Academy Families,

I hope that you have enjoyed and are continuing to enjoy the beautiful summer weather and time with your families.

As we begin to plan for the weeks and months ahead we are faced at times with more questions than answers.  I take great comfort in knowing that as a community we are working and will continue to work together to ensure a safe and successful return to our school.

We are currently in the process of reviewing the entry and exit and recess plan, as well as safety protocols. When this information has been confirmed I will communicate it to our community.

At this time the Elementary Regional Arts Program is on hold.  Our students will be in cohorts that would prevent the movement of classes or teachers into another class.  Students will be instructed by their homeroom teacher, French Teacher, Music Teacher (theory, no instruments), and in some of our primary classes a Physical Education Itinerant.

I encourage all of our families to take the time today to complete the “Return to School Survey.” This survey will provide us with data to better prepare for the return to school.  Here is the survey link: https://forms.gle/jTTyniPXm61vHbk7A

Please continue to check your emails regularly for updates and visit ycdsb.ca for further information pertaining to the Re-Entry Plan and FAQs.

We are all aware that going back to school after this long break will be a huge change for everyone. There will be challenges, uncertainties and mixed emotions.  We will continue to do our best to support and ‘nurture hope’ in your child(ren).

Continue to embrace the remainder of the summer.

Stay safe and be well.

Yours in Catholic Education,

Dayna Fitzpatrick                                                                                                        Principal
